Qatar: Iran’s Presence Is Enduring; Persian Gulf States Urged to Rethink Defense Partnerships
WANA (Mar 25) – Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized Iran’s enduring presence in the region, stating that no country will disappear and that regional states must find ways to coexist.
Majed Al-Ansari said, “Iran has been here for thousands of years, and that reality will not change. Total annihilation is not a viable option.”
Rejecting elimination-based approaches, he added, “No nation or country will vanish at the will or desire of any political actor.”
Al-Ansari also stressed the necessity of regional coexistence, noting, “We will live alongside one another. For the future of humanity, we will remain neighbors, and we must find ways to do so peacefully.”
Referring to the current situation, he said, “This is a very difficult moment, but there is a way forward, and we will find it.”
He concluded by stating that the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council will need to reassess their defense partnerships once the conflict comes to an end.
