Rallies Held in Turkey and Iraq in Support of Iran
WANA (Jan 19) – Following a call by the International Solidarity Association in Turkey, a rally was held on Sunday in Istanbul in support of Iran.
The gathering took place in front of the Iranian Consulate in Istanbul, expressing support for Iran in the face of threats from the United States and the Israeli regime.
Meanwhile, Al-Alam’s correspondent in Iraq reported on Sunday that thousands of people gathered in front of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) Media Centre in Baghdad, condemning U.S. threats to carry out military attacks against Iran.

Over the past weekend, peaceful protests by various professional groups and segments of the Iranian population over economic conditions—triggered by currency fluctuations and which the government had announced it recognized—were accompanied by attacks carried out by terrorist elements in Tehran and other cities.
These attacks resulted in damage to relief facilities, public and government buildings, mosques, and medical and cultural centers. Iranian authorities, following the arrest of large numbers of terrorist elements, stated that they possess documented evidence of links between these elements and Israeli and U.S. actors, which will be presented at a later stage.
U.S. and Israeli officials have openly acknowledged their support for the unrest in Iran. According to Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, this issue constitutes a “proven reality,” citing discussions between Israeli and U.S. officials and messages they posted on the social media platform X during the developments.
In this context, U.S. President Donald Trump has also made remarks regarding Iran’s handling of the incidents, threatening military action against the country.
