Reports of Iranian Missile Launch Toward Turkey Are Completely Baseless
WANA (Mar 31) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation to discuss the latest developments in the region and exchanged views on ongoing tensions.
The Turkish Foreign Minister referred to a recent four-party meeting in Islamabad attended by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, emphasizing regional support for ending the war and establishing peace and stability.
Araghchi briefed his Turkish counterpart on the latest situation regarding what he described as the “U.S.-Israeli imposed war against Iran,” stressing that all governments bear responsibility to condemn alleged crimes committed by aggressors, including attacks on schools, universities, scientific and cultural institutions, production and energy infrastructure, and residential areas.
He stated that recent U.S. rhetoric threatening Iran’s energy and production infrastructure constitutes what he described as “criminal threats” and reflects a disregard for international law and humanitarian principles, calling for a strong global response.
Araghchi dismissed reports alleging missile launches from Iran toward Turkey as “completely baseless,” warning against what he described as false-flag operations by enemies of regional peace and friendship.
He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to good-neighborly relations, respect for Turkey’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed readiness for technical cooperation to investigate any such claims.
