Reports of Multiple Explosions Heard in Iran; CENTCOM Announces New Strikes in Iran
WANA (Jun 28) – Local sources reported hearing multiple explosions overnight in several coastal areas of Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province, including Sirik, Qeshm, and Bandar Lengeh.
According to local reports, around 12:30 a.m. local time, at least four explosions were heard along the coastal area of Tahrouiyeh in Sirik County.
Residents on Qeshm Island also reported hearing several explosions, while additional blasts were reported in the Kouhestak area from the direction of the sea.
Preliminary reports indicate that the strikes may have hit a maritime border guard facility in Sirik as well as a telecommunications tower. The exact locations and causes of the explosions have not been officially confirmed.
Separately, United States Central Command announced that, under the orders of Donald Trump, U.S. forces had carried out new strikes against multiple targets inside Iran.
The reports come a day after Iranian authorities said naval units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired warning shots at a vessel allegedly attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz after ignoring instructions.
Iranian sources claimed that CENTCOM subsequently launched attacks on coastal areas of Hormozgan, including Sirik, and that Iranian armed forces responded. These claims have not been independently verified.
