WANA (May 21) – Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan announced the release and return of 20 Iranian sailors who had been stranded in Singapore, praising the humanitarian action and diplomatic efforts of Pakistan’s prime minister and foreign minister.

 

“Reza Amiri Moghaddam,” the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, wrote on X on Thursday: “I sincerely appreciate the humanitarian and benevolent efforts of the respected government of Pakistan in securing the release of 20 Iranian sailors who had been facing difficult conditions after their vessel was detained in Singaporean waters.”

 

The Iranian ambassador also expressed gratitude for the tireless efforts of Pakistani Prime Minister “Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif” and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, particularly “Ishaq Dar,” the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, along with other relevant institutions.

 

Amiri Moghaddam added on X: “Following diplomatic efforts, the sailors were transferred from Singapore to Islamabad and returned to their beloved homeland a few hours ago.”
