WANA (Jun 09) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Rezaei, has warned that Iran will respond with even greater force to any new Israeli targeting of Iranian territory, asserting that recent Iranian strikes have inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli regime.

 

Rezaei, who represents Dashtestan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, accused the United States of aiding the Israeli regime in its recent attack on Iran, dismissing public statements by U.S. President Donald Trump as unrealistic and untrustworthy.

 

Rezaei stated that Washington provided intelligence to Tel Aviv and attempted to intercept some of the Iranian missiles, but failed. He added that Iran possesses information proving U.S. support for the recent Israeli strikes, declaring Trump’s claims of non-intervention in the attack on Iran to be false.

 

Furthermore, he emphasized that the U.S. position during negotiations differs from Trump’s public rhetoric. Rezaei noted that Iran does not take these public statements seriously, as the Americans refrain from making any threats during the actual talks.

 

According to the parliamentary spokesperson, developments on the battlefield could influence the negotiations, where Iran’s stance remains firm and contingent upon the U.S. accepting specific conditions on the table: a total cessation of hostilities on all fronts, compensation paid to Iran, the lifting of sanctions, and the unfreezing of blocked Iranian assets.

 

Rezaei stated that Iran is fully prepared for both war and diplomacy. He noted that Pakistan and Qatar are working to ensure the success of the talks, but reaching an agreement depends entirely on the U.S. accepting Iran’s terms.

 

“Hostility Cessation on All Fronts Has Been a Condition Since Day One”

The lawmaker pointed out that Iran is neither insisting on nor rushing into negotiations with the United States, nor has it ever requested talks before or after the war. Instead, he maintained that it is the Americans who have utilized third-party nations as mediators to facilitate these discussions.

 

Reflecting on Iran’s recent strike against Israel, Rezaei explained that the attack was carried out in defense of the Lebanese people and in response to the bombardment of parts of Beirut’s southern suburbs—an action he claims Trump had promised Iran would not happen. “A complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts has been our condition on the table since day one,” he added.

 

“We will respond with greater strength to any new Israeli targeting of our country’s territory,” the spokesperson warned. “Iran’s recent attacks were powerful, struck multiple targets, and caused significant damage.”

 

Rezaei downplayed threats made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that Iran was the last to strike and describing the firepower directed at Israel in recent hours as “unprecedented and successful.”

 

The member of parliament firmly asserted that Israel must forget about transiting the Strait of Hormuz after this war. He declared that Iran and other regional countries have established new security rules to protect the region, which neither the U.S. nor the Israeli regime will be able to alter.

 

While some nations, including the United States, Kuwait, and Bahrain, refuse to recognize these new rules, Rezaei claimed others have accepted reality and are now less inclined to confront the challenges, knowing the new equation is anchored by countries like Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen.

 

Regarding maritime choke points, Rezaei noted that the decision to close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait to Israeli or Israel-affiliated vessels rests with Yemen, though Iran hopes this decision is finalized, expecting the Israeli regime to lose access to the strategic waterway.

 

“Americans Are Destabilizing Regional Security”

Rezaei dismissed American claims regarding the destruction of Iran’s naval capabilities as false, arguing that the U.S. has shown an inability to bring even a small boat into the strait or escort a tanker out of it without submitting to Iranian protocols.

 

The national security committee spokesperson emphasized that the Red Sea will remain “red” for the Israelis, reiterating Iran’s stance that regional security must be maintained by regional countries themselves. He stated that the recent conflict proved the Americans are the ones actively destabilizing the region.

 

Concluding his remarks, Rezaei affirmed that Iran will not repeat past mistakes and will not allow the geopolitical status of the region to revert to how it was prior to the war.
