Rosatom Preparing MoU with Iran on Small Nuclear Power Plants
WANA (Nov 28) – Alexey Likhachev, head of Russia’s state-owned nuclear corporation Rosatom, announced on Thursday that the company is preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iran concerning small nuclear power plants.
“We are currently preparing a memorandum of understanding on small-scale nuclear power plants,” Likhachev said.
According to him, the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant — completed with Russian cooperation — is operating stably.
He added that construction of the plant’s second and third units is underway, and that an agreement has been signed for the development of additional high-capacity nuclear units in Iran.
