WANA (Apr 14) – The Russian Ambassador to Tehran, Alexey Dedov, has criticized Washington’s approach to the Islamic Republic, asserting that the United States has yet to learn that coercive tactics and the “language of force” are ineffective against Iran.

In a statement addressing the current regional climate, Ambassador Dedov condemned recent attacks on Iran and highlighted the deepening ties between Tehran and Moscow through their comprehensive strategic treaty.

Nuclear Stance and Islamabad Negotiations

The Ambassador addressed the ongoing friction regarding Iran’s nuclear program, noting a disconnect in Washington’s rhetoric. “Iran is defending its rights,” Dedov stated.

“The U.S. claims Tehran must not acquire nuclear weapons, yet Washington seemingly refuses to hear Iran’s repeated assurances that its nuclear program is strictly peaceful.”

He suggested that this American perspective is a critical lens through which the recent diplomatic negotiations in Islamabad should be viewed.

Condolences for War Victims

Expressing solidarity on behalf of the Russian government and people, Ambassador Dedov offered his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the conflict in Iran. He specifically noted the tragic loss of life among children, expressing deep sympathy for those impacted by the hostilities.
