WANA (Jul 10) – Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom, announced on Friday that the first group of the company’s personnel has begun returning to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in southern Iran.

Speaking to reporters in Kaliningrad after talks between Russian and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) delegations, Likhachev said, “Just a few hours ago, the first group, consisting of six people, began traveling to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.”

Referring to previous attacks, Likhachev stressed that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant had not been targeted in any of them.

The Rosatom chief also said that, following the attacks, a number of the company’s Russian employees had been stranded in Tehran.

Likhachev added that Rosatom will decide in the coming hours whether to return additional personnel to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
