WANA (Jul 20) – Iran’s Acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn-al-Reza, declared that the transformation in the country’s outlook on technology is one of the most significant achievements of the recent war.

 

Speaking at a joint meeting with the Parliament’s Education, Research, and Technology Committee, Ibn-al-Reza asserted that despite all sanctions, restrictions, and shortages, Iranian scientists and engineers stood ground against global technological powers, leaving them astonished by the scientific capability, technical ingenuity, and rapid learning speed of Iranian specialists.

 

The Acting Minister emphasized that the strategy of the Ministry of Defense is firmly based on relying on indigenous knowledge, the capacity of elites, and the continuous development of defense technologies, a strategy that clearly demonstrated its efficacy during the recent conflict.

 

He added that the enemy entered the battlefield in the 12-Day and Ramadan wars by utilizing the full capacity of the world’s top technological companies, but the Islamic Republic of Iran passed this test successfully.

 

According to Ibn-al-Reza, a significant part of the country’s defense infrastructure had been planned years ago through the foresight of the late Leader of Iran and built by young elites, allowing these capacities to be reconstructed in a short time, leading to technological surprises in both technique and tactics mid-war.

 

Describing the recent conflict as a “war of intellects, elites, engineers, and technologists,” the Acting Minister stated that the defense industry is the main pillar of national power and deterrence, proving that geographical distances from the enemy can only be compensated for by relying on advanced technologies.

 

He highlighted that the motivation, commitment, and scientific capability of the Ministry of Defense specialists are the country’s greatest asset, noting that the production of missiles, drones, and other equipment required by the armed forces did not stop during the war, but actually multiplied in certain fields.

 

Furthermore, he referenced the extensive scientific ecosystem of the country, stating that Iran will never feel the impact of sanctions and shortages with such a capacity, which serves as the driving engine for innovation in national defense.

 

Earlier in the session, Ibn-al-Reza pointed to the recent message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, stating that recent events once again revealed the unreliability of the enemy and the worthlessness of American commitments.

 

He noted that this exposure was achieved through popular steadfastness, Iranian intelligence, and indigenous technology, adding that the massive influx of requests from elites, academics, and knowledge-based companies to participate in defense projects during and after the war shows that the future of Iran’s defense industry will be shaped by the nation’s scientists.

 

Following these remarks, Alireza Monadi, Chairman of the Parliament’s Education, Research, and Technology Committee, honored the memory of the late “martyrs” of the recent war, particularly the late Minister of Defense, Air Force Major General Aziz Nasirzadeh.

 

Monadi emphasized the unparalleled role of the scientific community in promoting Iran’s defensive power and stated that the parliament considers supporting the technology and innovation ecosystem a national duty, having already taken effective steps through the passage of the law supporting knowledge-based companies—a law previously praised by the martyred Leader of the Revolution.

 

The meeting concluded with parliamentary committee members declaring their full support for the defense industry and presenting their proposals to expand collaborative frameworks between the Ministry of Defense, universities, and knowledge-based firms.
