Satellite Images Contradict Trump’s Claim on Oil Flow Through Strait of Hormuz
WANA (Sep 03) – Satellite monitoring of the southern section of the Strait of Hormuz shows that, contrary to Donald Trump’s claim about millions of barrels of oil passing through the waterway, tanker traffic along the route has dropped to zero as of midday.
According to satellite observations conducted up to 2 p.m. local time, no commercial oil tanker movement has been recorded through the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
The development comes after Trump published an image on his Truth Social platform hours earlier, claiming that 18 million barrels of oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
Available data indicate that the only vessels currently present in the area are two Saudi-linked oil tankers and one tugboat, all of which had previously come under attack. As a result, normal tanker traffic through the strategic waterway remains suspended.
