Sayyari Warns U.S. Aircraft Carrier Show of Force Could Trigger Heavy Response
WANA (Jan 28) – Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Chief of Staff and Deputy Coordinator of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, has warned that any U.S. military “show of force” involving aircraft carrier deployments will not go unanswered and could result in severe damage to the United States.
In remarks addressing the ongoing hybrid and cognitive warfare directed at Iran, Sayyari stressed that the country is well aware of the tactics used by its enemies, and that public officials and citizens understand how to counter soft war and hybrid operations.
“When the enemy fails to achieve results through military actions, it continuously applies pressure through soft war and hybrid warfare,” he said. “But we are not inexperienced in this area. We know the way to counter the enemy’s tactics is unity, cohesion, coordination, empathy, and mutual support.”
U.S. Aircraft Carrier Deployments “Intended to Intimidate”
Answering a question about the U.S. military’s recent deployment of aircraft carriers, Sayyari said Washington has relied on “gunboat diplomacy” since 1980, attempting to frighten adversaries by deploying large fleets and advanced equipment.
He cited a famous statement by Iran’s late founder, Imam Khomeini, who reportedly said that if he had been present when a U.S. warship entered the Persian Gulf, he would have struck it with his shoe. Sayyari said the quote symbolises that Iran should not fear “hollow powers.”
He added that the deployment of multiple fleets should not mislead Iran into miscalculations, insisting that any aggression would lead to serious losses for the United States as well.

Finger on the Trigger… Iran will Respond Forcefully
WANA (Jan 27) – Israeli media have been frequently reporting in recent days that war is approaching. In the latest instance, the Hebrew Channel Kan stated that signs in the Middle East indicate a growing likelihood of a military confrontation between the United States and Iran. On the other hand, some European sources have […]
“Advanced Equipment Does Not Guarantee Superiority”
Referring to Iran’s experiences during the Iran-Iraq War and recent developments, Sayyari argued that the enemy should not assume superiority simply because of advanced equipment.
“During the eight-year Sacred Defense, did the enemy not possess all the resources?” he asked. “Nevertheless, we have assets they lack — including faith, belief, initiative, creativity, and capabilities that were clearly displayed during the eight-year war and the 12-day imposed war.”
He emphasised that Iran possesses the capability to inflict damage on its adversaries and that this fact is factored into U.S. calculations, which is why any misadventure would carry high costs.
Army Ready to Defend the Nation
Sayyari concluded by reaffirming the Iranian Army’s full readiness to defend the country’s territorial integrity, independence, and the Islamic Republic system. “The Iranian Army is always ready to confront any threat, whether from land, sea, or air,” he said. “We stand, and we will continue to stand.”
He also expressed hope that the army would receive comprehensive public support, as it did during the Iran-Iraq War, saying that without the people’s presence on the front lines, resisting the enemy would be impossible.
