WANA (Apr 22) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has announced that a cargo vessel was targeted off the coast of Iran.

According to the UKMTO, a report was received regarding an incident occurring approximately 8 nautical miles west of Iran. The report states that the captain of an outbound cargo ship reported shots fired at the vessel, which has since come to a halt in the water.

Based on this report, the crew are safe, and there have been no reports of leaks or physical damage to the ship.

Earlier, another foreign vessel had been intercepted by Iran.

Following the violation of the ceasefire by the United States, the ongoing naval blockade of Iran, and the seizure of an Iranian vessel, the spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has made an announcement.

He stated that until the U.S. ceases its interference with the full freedom of movement for vessels traveling to and from Iran, the status of the Strait of Hormuz will remain under strict control.

Consequently, the Strait of Hormuz has been completely closed and remains open only to Iranian vessels or those affiliated with Iran.
