WANA (Mar 17) – A senior spokesperson for the Armed Forces warned that if reported U.S. threats against Kharg Island are merely part of ongoing rhetoric or psychological operations, they would remain within that scope; however, if such threats materialize into action, all oil and gas facilities in the country of origin would be immediately targeted by Iran’s armed forces.

Speaking in a live interview on state television, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that, in his view, the world has witnessed how Iran’s armed forces, backed by public support, have responded forcefully to what he described as acts of aggression by the United States and Israel, inflicting significant damage.

He added that U.S. military officials and leaders have recently and repeatedly raised the issue of potential action against Kharg Island.

Representing the armed forces and the Iranian people, he warned that any attack on the island, its facilities, or its oil terminal would prompt a decisive response, targeting all oil and gas infrastructure of the originating country. He said such facilities would be “reduced to ashes” by Iran’s forces.

Shekarchi emphasized that previous warnings have been acted upon and stated that, in this matter, no red lines are recognized. According to him, any country involved as a base for such an action would face similar consequences, and its oil and gas infrastructure would be at risk.

He further warned that no country should serve as a point of origin for any U.S. action against Kharg Island, reiterating that any such move would trigger an immediate and powerful response from Iran’s armed forces.
