Senior IRGC Commander: Iran Has Not Yet Played Its Winning Cards
WANA (Jun 02) – A senior Iranian military commander dismissed Western and American claims regarding the vulnerability of Iran’s defense capabilities, warning that Tehran still holds undisclosed strategic advantages that it will deploy if necessary.
Brigadier General Mohammad Jafar Asadi, the Deputy Head of Inspection at the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the remarks in response to recent assertions by Western media outlets and U.S. officials.
“We have said repeatedly that we have not yet revealed all of our winning cards,” Asadi stated. “There are many cards remaining that we will utilize if the situation demands it.”
Defense Infrastructure Secured from Adversaries
Addressing the state of the country’s military industry following recent regional escalations, Asadi acknowledged that while the defense sector naturally sustained some damage during the latest conflict, its core production capabilities remain entirely intact.
“By God’s grace, the facilities currently being used to manufacture military equipment and support the Armed Forces are completely hidden from the enemy’s sight,” the commander noted. “They have no knowledge of their locations; therefore, our status in terms of defense production remains at an acceptable level.”
Public Support Labeled as Iran’s ‘Atomic Bomb’
Asadi emphasized that the Iranian population remains the most critical asset for the Islamic Republic’s military infrastructure, rejecting the necessity of unconventional weapons.
“Our Armed Forces have no need for an atomic bomb,” Asadi asserted. “Our superior weapon, or our atomic bomb, is these very ‘people’ who have demonstrated their presence in the streets and public squares for over 90 nights.”
Defiance Against US and NATO Threats
Reflecting on historical precedents, the commander pointed out that the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have consistently opposed the Islamic Republic since 1979 without achieving their objectives. He noted that even during the eight-year Iran-Iraq War—when the former Soviet Union also aligned against Iran—foreign powers failed to break the country’s resolve.
Responding directly to past rhetoric from a Western official who threatened to “send Iran back to the Stone Age,” Asadi struck a highly defiant tone.
“Our message is that even if we have absolutely nothing left, we will fight the United States with stones, because we are not a people who surrender to America,” he said. “The United States demands nothing short of our complete capitulation, and the Iranian nation will never surrender.”
The commander concluded by stating that negotiations with Washington would not resolve the country’s economic or livelihood challenges, framing the current geopolitical reality as a choice between resistance and confrontation.
“When surrender is out of the question, war lies ahead. Therefore, we are waiting, and we have no issue with war,” Asadi stated. “Even if NATO enters this arena, we harbor no concerns whatsoever.”
