Several Young Gymnasts Killed in U.S.–Israeli Strike on Minab School
WANA (Mar 04) – Several young gymnasts were killed following a U.S.–Israeli strike on a school in Minab, according to Iran’s Gymnastics Federation.
In a statement, the Gymnastics Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the attack targeted Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab and resulted in the deaths of a number of children and teenagers. The federation described the strike as “brutal” and stated that several of those killed were active athletes in gymnastics.
Among the victims were Reza Habashi, Arina Arab-Kish, Atena Ahmadzadeh, Makan Nasiri, and Araz Ahmadi-Zadeh, identified as young Iranian gymnasts who lost their lives in the incident.
The federation condemned what it called an inhumane act and extended condolences to the bereaved families, the people of Minab, and the country’s sports community. It added that the gymnastics community stands in solidarity with the families of the victims.
