Seyed Hashim al-Haidari Issues Fatwa for Jihad Against the U.S. and Israel
WANA (Mar 05) – Seyed Hashim al-Haidari, Secretary-General of Iraq’s Al-Ahd Movement and former Deputy of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), issued a fatwa calling for jihad against the United States and Israel in a video message.
Al-Haidari stated: “We must fulfill our historic religious responsibility.” He condemned the U.S. and Israel, in cooperation with the West, for openly committing an act of aggression by assassinating one of the most revered religious leaders in the Muslim world, the Supreme Leader of Iran.
He emphasized that silence in the face of this crime is unacceptable, asserting: “Seeking revenge is not just a matter of justice, but a religious, doctrinal, moral, and human obligation.”
Al-Haidari further clarified that this struggle is not about patriotism, ethnicity, or political factions, but is instead about Islam, faith, and the rights of God. He added: “This is a matter of divine justice.”
He concluded by criticizing the leaders of Islamic countries, stating: “It is shameful for Islamic rulers to remain neutral in the face of U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, while their adversaries cooperate widely.”
