Seyed Kamal Kharazi Dies from Injuries Sustained in Terrorist Attack
WANA (Apr 10) – Dr. Seyed Kamal Kharazi, head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, passed away early Friday, April 10, 2026, due to severe injuries sustained in a terrorist attack.
According to reports, he had been critically wounded in an airstrike on his residence, attributed to American–Israeli adversaries, and had been hospitalized for several days before succumbing to his injuries.
Family members confirmed the news, stating that Kharazi passed away after years of service in political and academic fields.
He was considered a prominent figure in Iran’s foreign policy establishment and previously held key positions including Minister of Foreign Affairs, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader, head of the Center for Cognitive Sciences, and member of the Expediency Discernment Council.
It is worth noting that on April 1, 2026, an airstrike targeted his home, resulting in the death of his wife and leaving him seriously injured and hospitalized.
