The four-country visit — including Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan — aims to promote regional peace and stability, expand economic cooperation, and elevate Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement, government sources said.
During the tour, Prime Minister Sharif is expected to hold wide-ranging discussions with senior leaders and officials on bilateral ties as well as pressing regional and international issues.
On May 25 , Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara. The two leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation. They also reiterated their principled support for the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
In his remarks during the Turkey visit, Sharif expressed gratitude to friendly nations for backing Pakistan during its recent standoff with India. Sharif is also scheduled to attend the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on May 29–30.
