WANA (Mar 25) – Hezbollah Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, said the “resistance” is fully prepared and that Iran will “certainly prevail” in ongoing developments, describing resistance as “the hope and the path to freedom.”

He stressed that resistance forces have demonstrated their effectiveness and capability over the years, adding that fighters are determined to move forward with “unlimited readiness for sacrifice.” According to Qassem, young members of the resistance have created “remarkable scenes of heroism and patriotism,” becoming a powerful symbol of national commitment.

He also praised public support, saying that backers of the resistance have endured hardships, left their homes, and sacrificed loved ones, playing a decisive role in sustaining the movement. He described this perseverance as key to building “a free and dignified future” for Lebanon.

Qassem identified “aggression” as the main threat facing the region, emphasising that resistance remains the only path to confronting it and achieving freedom.

Turning to domestic affairs, he urged the Lebanese government not to take decisions that could “serve an Israeli agenda,” stressing that national unity can thwart enemy objectives. He also called for reversing any move to criminalise resistance forces.

Rejecting claims that the conflict represents “others’ war” on Lebanese soil, Qassem said it is in fact “a confrontation led by Israel and the United States against Lebanon.”

He added that resistance forces, alongside the people and the army, are engaged in a defensive battle to safeguard the country’s independence and freedom.

He concluded by calling for internal cohesion and prioritising “halting the aggression” as the immediate objective, noting that other issues can be addressed at a later stage.
