WANA (Jul 17) – Six bridges in Khamir County were struck following a series of U.S. airstrikes across Hormozgan Province early Friday morning, local officials confirmed.

 

The Hormozgan Governor’s Office released a statement on Friday detailing the affected routes, noting that traffic in these areas has been severely disrupted and is moving slowly. The damaged infrastructure includes:

 

  • The Geriveh Bridge on the Bandar Abbas–Khamir–Lar route
  • The bridge past Latidan (Kalmatali) village on the return route from Bandar Abbas–Khamir–Lar
  • Two bridges on the Kahurestan–Lar route
  • An unfinished bridge on the Bandar Khamir–Keshar–Bandar Abbas axis
  • The Maru village bridge in Khamir County

 

According to the official report, residents across Hormozgan Province are strongly urged to strictly avoid traveling on the aforementioned routes and adjacent areas. Authorities have advised the public to use alternative routes to keep the roads clear for emergency services, law enforcement, and firefighting teams.

 

The statement also called on citizens to remain calm and composed, requesting that they follow updates exclusively through official media outlets and the governor’s office.

 

Emergency responders, law enforcement, and military personnel are currently deployed to the affected sites, and necessary measures are underway.

 

The death toll from the U.S. airstrikes on bridges in Bandar Khamir has also reported seven as rescue operations continue across Hormozgan Province.

 

In addition to the fatalities, nine other individuals were injured in the attacks. The Hormozgan Governor’s Office stated that emergency response teams and medical personnel are actively providing urgent care and treatment to the wounded at the scene and in local medical facilities.
