WANA (Aug 19) – A well-informed source close to Iran’s negotiating team has rejected the White House’s claim regarding the cancellation of talks with Iran until further notice, emphasizing that no direct negotiations between Iran and the United States have actually been underway.

 

Responding to the White House’s assertion, the source clarified that recent discussions focused on exercising sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz were conducted strictly with Oman, rather than Washington.

 

Furthermore, the source noted that all talks with the American side had already been halted following Washington’s violation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, reiterating that the recent regional engagements with Omani counterparts had no connection to the United States.
