WANA (Apr 10) – The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country will dispatch a special envoy to Iran to assess the situation in the Middle East.

This decision was made while conflicting reports from the United States and Iran regarding the status of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz continue to be published.

The decision to send this envoy was made during a telephone conversation between “Cho Hyun,” the South Korean Foreign Minister, and “Seyed Abbas Araghchi,” Iran’s Foreign Minister.

According to the South Korean Foreign Ministry, since the beginning of the conflict on February 28 and the closure of this vital maritime route by Iran, a total of 26 vessels associated with South Korean companies have been trapped in the Strait of Hormuz.
