WANA (Aug 22) – The Iranian Navy’s large-scale exercise “Sustainable Authority 2025” concluded successfully with the launch of various cruise missiles and strike drones, destroying multiple predetermined targets in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

 

The two-day drill, which involved extensive participation of surface and subsurface units, aerial squadrons, coastal and sea-based missile sites, as well as electronic warfare units, featured the execution of highly complex operational scenarios.

During the exercise, the naval cruise missiles Nasir and Qadir, the coastal-based anti-ship missile Qader, and the strike drone Bavar-5 were successfully launched, hitting and destroying designated targets at sea. One of the highlights of the drill was the simultaneous destruction of a surface target by multiple missile and drone systems, showcasing the Navy’s coordination capabilities and its multilayered defense power.

 

Rear Admiral Abbas Hassani, the exercise spokesperson, stated that all planned objectives were achieved, adding: “This phase of the exercise aimed to enhance missile and drone capabilities, conduct electronic warfare training, and increase coordination among units. It demonstrated that the Iranian Navy is operating at the highest level of combat readiness.”

The “Sustainable Authority 2025” drill was held under sensitive regional circumstances. Western media widely covered the exercise, describing it as a symbol of Iran’s determination to strengthen deterrence and prepare for potential threats.

 

With the successful conclusion of this drill, the Iranian Navy demonstrated that, relying on indigenous capabilities and operational experience, it is fully prepared to decisively defend the maritime security and national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international waters.
