WANA (Jun 11) – In an official meeting between Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, and Jamil Mazhar, Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed its unwavering and principled support for the Palestinian cause.

During the meeting, Pezeshkian condemned the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza, attributing them to the lack of cohesion and unity in the Islamic world. He stated: “Strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries to confront these crimes has been a key priority of Iran’s foreign policy.”

He also emphasized the need to fully utilize Iran’s diplomatic capacities to achieve an immediate halt to Israeli attacks, adding: “Defending Palestine is one of the central themes in Iran’s international engagements.”

Pezeshkian further criticized the divisive policies of the region’s adversaries, stating that such strategies have facilitated the plundering of resources in Islamic countries and enabled blatant support for the occupying regime.

In response, Jamil Mazhar expressed gratitude for Iran’s consistent support of the Palestinian cause and described Tehran’s role in promoting the resistance discourse and Islamic unity as pivotal.

Highlighting the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in the face of blockade and genocide, he called for practical synergy within the Islamic world to immediately end the atrocities in Gaza. He stated: “Palestine, backed by free nations and under the banner of Islamic unity, will continue on the path of resistance.”
