WANA (Apr 10) – In a high-level briefing with foreign ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, declared that a ten-point proposal submitted by Tehran has been formally accepted as the foundation for ongoing diplomatic talks.

The Deputy Minister characterized the recent military actions by the United States and the Israeli regime as an “illegal war” and a “clear instance of war crimes” against the Iranian people.

He specifically highlighted the timing of the strikes, noting that the U.S. launched military aggression for a second time while diplomatic efforts in Geneva were active.

National Resilience and Strategic Shifts

Takht-Ravanchi addressed the profound impact of the recent conflict, which resulted in the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, alongside several high-ranking commanders and civilians.

“The loss of the Great Leader of the Revolution was an immense blow to Iran,” Takht-Ravanchi stated. “However, Iran’s powerful Armed Forces, with the unwavering support of the nation, imposed a defeat on the American and Israeli aggressors, forcing them to alter their strategic outlook toward the Islamic Republic.”

Conditions for Diplomacy and Ceasefire

While reaffirming Iran’s openness to dialogue, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Tehran would no longer tolerate “deceptive” diplomacy used as a cover for future military preparations. He outlined Iran’s firm stance on any potential truce:

No Rearmament: Iran rejects any ceasefire that allows the “aggressor enemy” to re-equip and launch subsequent attacks.

Guarantees Required: He noted that Iran has explicitly informed its international partners that the current situation will not conclude without binding guarantees against the repetition of such aggression.

Relations with Neighboring States

Addressing regional concerns, Takht-Ravanchi clarified that Iran’s defensive operations should not be perceived as hostile acts toward neighboring countries.

He maintained that Iran’s military response was strictly targeted at U.S. bases and facilities within those territories that were actively utilized in the military invasion against Iran, reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to a policy of “good neighborliness.”
