WANA (Aug 18) – Afghanistan’s Taliban on Monday dismissed reports claiming that its officials had held a meeting with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) regarding alleged “British spies.”

Afghanistan’s representatives said no such meeting with IRGC officials had taken place and rejected claims that they had provided Iran with a list of individuals linked to British intelligence.

The denial follows media reports alleging that the IRGC had asked the Taliban to hand over a list of Afghan nationals who had cooperated with the UK, with the stated aim of identifying MI6 operatives.
