WANA (Jun 10) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has responded to recent remarks by Donald Trump regarding possible attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, saying that threatening the systems that sustain daily life is not a sign of power but a reflection of desperation in the face of a nation’s resolve.

 

In a post published on X on Tuesday evening, Pezeshkian wrote: “Critical infrastructure is the lifeline of people’s lives. Threatening to target it—from transportation networks to the electricity and water sectors—is not a display of strength, but a sign of helplessness in the face of a nation’s will.”

 

He added that “Iran, relying on the knowledge and capabilities of its experts, as well as national unity and solidarity, will remain steadfast against any pressure or threat.”

 

The president’s remarks came after Donald Trump renewed his threats against Iran during an interview with Fox News. When asked whether he was considering attacks on Iranian power plants and bridges, Trump replied: “I’m not going to tell you, but I can do it.”

 

Trump further expanded on the possibility of targeting Iran’s domestic infrastructure, saying he was “on the verge of ordering new attacks on power plants and bridges in Iran,” broadening the scope of potential targets beyond military facilities to include key transportation and energy networks.
