WANA (Jun 11) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a strongly-worded statement condemning what it described as widespread, aggressive strikes carried out by American forces overnight. Tehran warned that the United States government will bear full responsibility for the “highly dangerous consequences” of these actions.

According to the ministry, the recent military operations by the U.S. constitute a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international law regarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Iranian officials declared that the strikes have effectively rendered the April 8, 2026, ceasefire null and void.

Warning to Regional Allies

A significant portion of the diplomatic statement was directed at neighboring countries that host American military infrastructure. The ministry noted that the continued use of regional territories and facilities to launch operations against Iran positions those nations alongside the aggressors.

“While emphatically reminding all countries in the region of their legal and moral obligation to prevent the terrorist U.S. military from utilizing their territory, facilities, and resources to commit acts of aggression against Iran, the Islamic Republic emphasizes its determination to neutralize the origin and source of these aggressive attacks,” the statement read, citing Iran’s inherent right to self-defense under international law.

Critique of the United Nations

Tehran called upon member states of the United Nations to explicitly oppose what it termed the lawlessness and bullying of the United States and the Israeli regime, warning that global silence would drive the international community toward further chaos and insecurity.

The statement concluded with a direct challenge to the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General, urging them to break their silence and move away from ambiguous rhetoric.

“Issuing generic and vague statements, under circumstances where there is not the slightest doubt regarding the aggressive nature of the actions taken by the U.S. and the Zionist regime, is not considered a responsible approach,” the ministry stated, adding that passive diplomacy would only embolden further violations of international law.
