Tehran Police: Alleged Mossad Agent Arrested Among Rioters
WANA (Jan 05) – Tehran police announced the arrest of an individual accused of being affiliated with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency among those involved in recent unrest.
According to police, the suspect claimed to have been in contact with an organization based in Germany and said he began his activities via the social media platform Instagram, identifying individuals by monitoring who liked certain posts.
The suspect reportedly said he was led to believe he was under full protection and, in return for carrying out specific actions, would receive guidance and comprehensive training.
He claimed that in the initial stages, he was given step-by-step training on how to use a mobile phone and how to establish communications. He also said that early assignments included being present in crowded locations to gather information.
The suspect further alleged that through his mobile phone, he gained the ability to receive signals and identify nearby phone numbers, and that he was tasked with making contact with specific individuals.
Separately, overnight unrest was reported in Fardis, Alborz Province, where individuals involved in unrest allegedly set fire to a Hosseiniyeh (a Shiite religious congregation hall).
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump again issued threats against Iran. Speaking to reporters aboard the U.S. presidential aircraft, Trump said, “We are closely monitoring the situation in Iran. If they start killing people as they have in the past, I think the United States will strike them very hard.”
Previously, the U.S. President, Donald Trump, made controversial remarks on his Truth Social platform page about protests in Iran, which faced several reactions from Iranian officials and people.
Trump had written: “If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President Donald J. Trump…”
