Tehran to Host World’s Largest Street Amusement Park
WANA (Jun 02) – Tehran is preparing to host what organizers describe as the world’s largest street amusement park as part of the city’s massive Eid al-Ghadir celebrations, a religious and cultural event that draws large crowds each year across Iran.
Eid al-Ghadir is one of the most significant holidays in Shia Islam, commemorating an event that Shia Muslims regard as the appointment of Imam Ali as the successor to the Prophet Muhammad. In recent years, Tehran’s “10-Kilometer Ghadir Celebration” has evolved into one of the country’s largest public gatherings, combining cultural activities, family entertainment, and community events along a major route through the capital.
According to organizers, this year’s event will feature a giant open-air amusement park stretching across the entire 10-kilometer route. They argue that the scale of the project exceeds that of many well-known amusement parks around the world. For comparison, the main street of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Florida is approximately 1.5 kilometers long, making the Ghadir entertainment route more than six times longer.
Based on the dimensions announced by organizers, the temporary amusement park will cover roughly 30 hectares (74 acres), assuming an average width of about 30 meters along the route. This would place it within the range of several internationally recognized theme parks in terms of overall footprint, despite being constructed as a temporary urban attraction.

The attraction is expected to include dozens of large inflatable castles, giant ball pits, children’s play zones, and hundreds of entertainment and cultural booths designed for families. Organizers say the venue will be capable of accommodating crowds far larger than those typically seen at many permanent amusement parks worldwide.
The 10-Kilometer Ghadir Celebration has become one of Iran’s largest annual public events, attracting millions of participants from Tehran and surrounding areas. If attendance and operational plans unfold as projected, the street amusement park could rank among the largest temporary entertainment projects ever organized in terms of both physical scale and visitor capacity.
