WANA (Mar 25) – A senior political-security official told an Iranian domestic news agency that Iran has rejected the U.S. proposal to end the ongoing imposed war, emphasizing that the conflict will only conclude according to Tehran’s own conditions and timeline.

The official, who was familiar with the proposal and spoke exclusively, stated that Iran will not allow U.S. President Donald Trump to determine the timing of the war’s end.

He said, “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its conditions are met,” underscoring Tehran’s determination to continue its defense and deliver “heavy blows” to Israel and the United States until its demands are fulfilled.

According to the official, Washington has pursued negotiations through various diplomatic channels and offered proposals that Tehran considers “extreme” and “detached from the reality of America’s defeat on the battlefield.”

The official cited the two previous negotiation rounds in spring and winter 2025 as examples, describing them as deceptive. He emphasized that in both cases, the U.S. had no real intention of engaging in meaningful dialogue and subsequently carried out military actions against Iran.

Therefore, Tehran has classified the latest effort, presented through a friendly regional intermediary, as a tool to escalate tensions and has rejected it.

The official outlined five specific conditions under which Iran would agree to end the war:

  1. Complete cessation of “aggression and assassination” by Israel and the U.S.
  2. Establishment of clear mechanisms to ensure that war will not be imposed on the Islamic Republic again.
  3. Guaranteed and fully defined payment of war reparations and damages.
  4. Ending the war on all fronts and for all resistance groups across the region.
  5. International recognition and guarantees of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

The official also noted that these conditions are in addition to demands Tehran presented during the second round of Geneva talks, which occurred just days before the recent U.S.-Israeli attack on February 28.

Iran has informed all well-intentioned mediators that a ceasefire is conditional on full acceptance of its terms.

He stressed: “No negotiations will take place before this,” and Iran’s defensive operations will continue until the announced conditions are met.

He added: “The war will end when Iran decides, not when Trump imagines it to be over.”
