The Cost of the Next Act of Folly Is Not Comparable to the Previous One
WANA (Dec 31) – Following recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump after his meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Israeli regime—remarks in which he offered verbal emphasis on negotiations with Iran while once again advancing a series of claims and threats against the Islamic Republic—the KHAMENEI.IR media outlet (affiliated with the Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran) published an article.
In these statements, Trump reiterated allegations regarding Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities and spoke of the possibility of military action. He also referred to regional developments and his relations with the Israeli prime minister, making claims about the outcomes of U.S. military actions.
He went on to comment on Iran’s internal conditions and the country’s economic and social situation—positions that have prompted varied analyses and assessments across media and political circles.
The full text of the article is as follows:
The U.S. president, in a Monday night meeting with the prime minister of the Zionist regime, once again issued threats against Iran. This is not the first time Trump has resorted to threats since the 12-day war. These threats can—and should—be analyzed from several perspectives.
Even in the absence of explicit threats, our country’s armed forces remain fully vigilant and are carrying out their duties by drawing on the experience of the 12-day war—matters that require no discussion of details.
The enemy’s behavioral pattern has shown that it recognizes no limits in deception, malice, and crime. Reason and prudence therefore dictate that the military forces and defenders of the homeland must consider every possible scenario and have plans in place to confront them—and they do.
From another angle, these threats should be seen as a continuation of the U.S. government’s bully-style policy—one that seeks, through atmosphere-building, psychological and media operations, and harsh, threatening rhetoric, to cast the shadow of war over the country and thereby influence public opinion and even the psychological climate of the national economy.
Six months ago, the United States, along with its trained dog in the region, played the military card and ran into a solid wall. They now know better than anyone that military action would impose a heavy cost on them; for various reasons beyond the scope of this piece, the cost of the next act of folly is not comparable to the previous one.
If the U.S. ruling establishment possessed even a modicum of reason and foresight, it would know that it cannot—and must not—address the Iranian nation in the language of force and threats. These threats, above all, reveal Washington’s true nature and objectives, setting fire to decades of false claims through which it tried to deceive public opinion and conceal its hostility toward the Iranian people behind sleights of hand such as human rights, freedom of expression, women’s rights, and the like.
As senior officials of the country have stated in unison in response to these threats—that any aggression will be met with a response more severe than before—the people, too, are unafraid of such rhetoric. The only outcome of this bluster is the intensification and deepening of hatred toward these criminal vermin. Raising such statements under current conditions above all reflects the stupidity of the enemies of the noble people of Iran.
These foolish and shameless threats have another dimension that must not be overlooked: we live in a world that, despite all its advances and claims, increasingly resembles a jungle. In such a jungle, being strong—and becoming stronger—is not a choice; it is a prerequisite for survival.
