WANA (Aug 21) – Iran’s armed forces and naval units will not allow adversaries to come anywhere near Iranian territory, Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani declared, asserting that the power and resolve of the Iranian people have effectively grounded the enemy.

 

Speaking on national defense and maritime readiness, Irani emphasized that the Armed Forces are fully deployed and standing firm against foreign threats.

 

He warned that any aggressive attempt to approach the country’s sacred soil will face a decisive military response, adding that Iranian naval forces maintain an authoritative presence in strategic straits and waterways to secure national interests and safeguard the nation’s security.

 

Detailing Iran’s deep maritime heritage, Irani noted that the country’s naval history spans over 6,000 years, establishing that Iran’s relationship with the sea is rooted in ancient civilization rather than modern developments.

 

He highlighted southern regions such as Abadan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and Hormozgan, noting their historical importance, their vital role during the Sacred Defense (Iran-Iraq War), and their ongoing strategic significance in protecting national sovereignty today.

 

The navy commander reiterated full combat readiness, stating that if enemies enter the field with all their strength, Iran’s military forces will confront them with equal force.

 

He praised the Iranian public’s unity and resistance as the primary force paralyzing enemy ambitions, noting that despite daily foreign threats, adversaries remain unable to execute their claims due to the solidarity between the people and the armed forces.

 

Irani concluded by calling national cohesion the country’s greatest asset, warning that maintaining unity is a public duty and that no discourse should be allowed to damage the bond between the people and the Islamic Republic.
