WANA (Oct 14) – Afsaneh Hesamifard has become the first Iranian woman to join the exclusive club of climbers who have summited all of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks.

According to the Iranian Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation, Hesamifard successfully reached the summit of Cho Oyu in Tibet. With this ascent, she completed her project of climbing all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks and became the second Iranian — after Azim Gheichisaz — to achieve this remarkable feat.

Hesamifard is the first Iranian female mountaineer to have climbed every 8,000-meter peak on Earth, marking a historic milestone for Iranian mountaineering.
