The New Draft Resolution Against Iran Is Repetitive and Aimed at Political Pressure
WANA (Nov 16) – The Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) criticized the efforts of the European troika to pass a new resolution against Iran at the upcoming meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, calling the move “repetitive, political, and rooted in unilateralism.”
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the international conference titled “International Law Under Attack, Aggression, and Defense,” Mohammad Eslami highlighted the recent attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling it unprecedented.
“For the first time in history, an attack was carried out on facilities that were officially registered with the IAEA and under continuous monitoring, including intensified verification. This is a clear violation of international law,” he said.

Criticism of the IAEA and Western Countries for Silence
Eslami expressed regret that neither the IAEA nor its Director General condemned the attack, adding: “The three European countries did not allow the Board of Governors to issue a condemnation. The UN Security Council also failed to condemn the incident. This represents a blow to international legal norms.”
He further stated that the United States and Europe were “repeating their unilateral and coercive approach toward the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Araghchi: Requests for Negotiations Have Resumed
WANA (Nov 16) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said that following the failure of the United States and Israel to achieve their objectives in the recent conflict, “requests for negotiations with Iran have once again begun, simply because their military approach did not succeed.” Return to Diplomacy After the Failure of the […]
A Repetitive Political Pressure Campaign
Commenting on ongoing diplomatic efforts to block the adoption of a new resolution, the AEOI chief said: “These resolutions are nothing more than repetitive political and psychological operations aimed at exerting pressure on Iran. The same baseless, false, and outdated accusations are being raised again.”
Eslami noted that after 20 years of negotiations—culminating in the JCPOA—the so-called PMD file had been closed, and Iran had fully implemented its commitments and engaged in unprecedented transparency.
End of UNSCR 2231; Iran Accepts Only Safeguards-Level Monitoring
The Vice President emphasized that the ten-year mandate of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 ended in October 2025: “Iran has fulfilled all its commitments. From now on, the IAEA may only conduct safeguards-level verification of our nuclear program.”
He also demanded that the IAEA establish a clear position on attacks against facilities under its supervision: “The IAEA must clarify whether such attacks are permissible. If they are not, then it must adopt a clear procedure for responding to them. When a facility has been destroyed, what exactly is left for the Agency to inspect?”
