WANA (Jul 14) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that the United States military has launched a new round of airstrikes against Iranian territory, coinciding with the resumption of a strict naval blockade on Iranian ports.

According to CENTCOM, the latest waves of strikes began at approximately 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (EST). U.S. forces initiated these operations with the stated goal of degrading Iran’s military capability to threaten and attack commercial shipping in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The military action was launched as U.S. forces prepared to officially reinstate a naval blockade of Iran’s coastal regions and ports. The blockade is scheduled to take effect at 4:00 p.m. EST (11:30 p.m. Tehran time).
