Three More Iranian Tankers Break U.S. Blockade
WANA (May 18) – Satellite data has shown that three more tankers have been added to Iran’s storage capacity.
TankerTrackers, a company that assists the U.S. in tracking oil shipments, says three Iranian tankers broke the U.S. blockade line using three different tactics. One turned off its automatic tracker, another raised a Russian flag, and the third used the Oman coastline.
More than a month has passed since the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said several times that Iran’s storage capacity on Kharg Island has run out, but based on monitoring by TankerTrackers, Iran has more than a month of time left, provided that no other tanker enters the blockade.
Now these tankers, which are empty, can carry a total of 1.9 million barrels of Iranian oil.
TankerTrackers says this blockade-breaking gives Iran more time while the world is waiting to receive additional energy and fertilizer from this region.
