Three South Pars Platforms Return to Production Grid
WANA (May 31) – The Managing Director of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Touraj Dehghani, announced the return of three offshore platforms in the South Pars joint field to the production loop following the recent war.
Touraj Dehghani, highlighting the recovery process of gas production and processing capacity in the South Pars shared field following the recent conflict, stated:
“The recovery of rich gas production and processing capacity in this shared field is progressing favorably, relying on the technical expertise of oil industry specialists, integrated production management, and maximum utilization of existing capacities. As a result, three South Pars offshore platforms have already returned to the production grid.”
Noting that attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States on certain South Pars refining facilities had restricted a portion of the gas receiving and processing capacity along the coastline of Bushehr province, Dehghani added:
“Following these conditions, a number of offshore platforms corresponding to the damaged refineries were forced to halt production, despite being fully operational and having sustained no damage to their marine structures. This was due to the inability to receive and process the produced gas on the mainland.”
The POGC Managing Director continued: “By implementing technical and operational programs in the downstream sector and maximizing the capacity of active refineries, the groundwork was laid to receive and process a portion of the gas produced by these platforms. Consequently, three offshore platforms have now re-entered the production cycle.”
Dehghani specified that the rich gas extracted from these platforms is being transferred to other gas refineries in the region in coordination with the downstream sector. This ensures the optimal utilization of the South Pars joint field’s production capacity, maintains a stable supply of refinery feedstock, and supports the management of the national gas network.
He characterized the return of these platforms to the production grid as a demonstration of operational flexibility, technical capability, and effective coordination among various sectors of the country’s oil and gas industry, adding: “The plan to restore maximum gas production and processing capacity in South Pars is being pursued with utmost seriousness, and the production revival process will continue according to schedule.”
Dehghani also pointed to the accelerated reconstruction pace of the damaged refineries, stating: “Reconstruction activities at the Phase 14 refinery are proceeding at full strength, and debris removal operations at the refineries damaged during the Third Imposed War are being carried out relentlessly.”
He concluded by reminding that the Pars Oil and Gas Company, aligned with its critical responsibility of supplying over 70% of the country’s gas, is deploying all its efforts and expertise toward reviving gas production and reconstructing the damaged refineries as rapidly as possible.
