WANA (Jul 12) – The Persian Gulf Waterway Authority announced that transit through the Strait of Hormuz is currently not possible, citing what it described as “recent unlawful activities” by U.S. military forces in the region.

 

In an official statement, the authority said that vessel traffic through the strategic waterway has been temporarily suspended due to the current security situation. It added that once stability is restored, all pending applications will be reviewed according to the established schedule, and the necessary transit permits will be issued.

 

The authority emphasized that the only official channel for obtaining transit authorization is the PGSA.ir website and urged all applicants to submit their requests exclusively through that platform.

 

It also stated that the latest updates and announcements regarding navigation through the Strait of Hormuz will be published via its official account on X.

 

The statement concluded by thanking users for their patience and cooperation while the current restrictions remain in place.
