WANA (Mar 31) – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated on Tuesday that the war against Iran would “soon come to an end,” continuing a pattern of seemingly contradictory remarks regarding the conflict.

Speaking earlier in the day, Trump reiterated claims about the destruction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while simultaneously asserting that “we are completely crushing Iran.”

Despite previously setting multiple deadlines, the U.S. president has not succeeded in reopening the Strait of Hormuz. In comments to New York Post, he suggested that other countries should take responsibility for ensuring the waterway’s reopening.

Although Trump claimed that the war would end soon, he did not provide details on how or under what conditions such an outcome would be achieved.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Trump had repeatedly emphasized the goal of “regime change” in Iran. However, in his latest remarks, he described his mission more narrowly, stating: “My mission was to ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon.”

He further asserted that Iran would “never” acquire nuclear weapons, adding that “as soon as we leave the region, the Strait of Hormuz will automatically reopen.”
