Trump Delays Planned Strikes on Iran’s Energy Infrastructure
WANA (Mar 27) – U.S. President Donald Trump said early Friday that planned attacks on Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure have been postponed for another 10 days.
In a post on social media, Trump stated that the deadline for potential strikes has been extended until 8:00 p.m. local time on April 6, 2026. He said the decision was made “at the request of the Iranian government,” adding that discussions are ongoing and “progressing well,” despite what he described as inaccurate media reports.
Iranian officials have previously warned that any attack on the country’s power plants would trigger a strong response.
Tehran has indicated it could take measures including closing the Strait of Hormuz and targeting energy infrastructure in countries hosting U.S. military bases in the region, as well as Israeli facilities.
