Trump Expresses Discontent With U.S. Press Narratives on Iran
WANA (May 27) – U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong critique of mainstream American news outlets, asserting that they would portray even a complete Iranian military capitulation as a major victory over the United States.
In a statement published on his social media account, President Trump reiterated a previous commentary to illustrate what he considers systemic media bias, framing his argument around an extreme hypothetical surrender by Tehran.
On the Hypothetical Iranian Surrender:
“If Iran surrenders, admits their Navy is gone and resting at the bottom of the sea, and their Air Force is no longer with us, and if their entire Military walks out of Tehran, weapons dropped and hands held high, each shouting ‘I surrender, I surrender’ while wildly waving the representative White Flag, and if their entire remaining Leadership signs all necessary ‘Documents of Surrender,’ and admit their defeat to the great power and force of the magnificent U.S.A.,” Trump wrote.
On the Presentation of the Media Narrative:
The U.S. President claimed that under these absolute conditions, major American publications and news networks would still frame the outcome in favor of Tehran’s narrative.
“…The Failing New York Times, The China Street Journal (WSJ!), Corrupt and now Irrelevant CNN, and all other members of the Fake News Media, will headline that Iran had a Masterful and Brilliant Victory over The United States of America, it wasn’t even close,” Trump stated.
He concluded his remarks by questioning the path of his domestic political opponents and the press corps, stating, “The Dumacrats and Media have totally lost their way. They have gone absolutely CRAZY!!!”
