Trump: Iran Shot Down U.S. Fighter Jet by Chance
WANA (Apr 06) – The U.S. President said on Monday, in response to a reporter’s question, that Iranian armed forces had shot down an American fighter jet by chance.
“Donald Trump,” the President of the United States, told reporters today that Iranians refuse to surrender, adding, “I won’t go any further than this, because there are worse things than destroying power plants and bridges.”
He continued: “I used strong language on the Truth Social platform to get my point across, and my message was delivered. Unfortunately, the American people want us to come back home.”
A reporter asked Trump what he would say to Americans who oppose the war.
Trump replied: “They are foolish, because war is about one thing: Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons.”
The U.S. President went on to say: “If it were up to me, what would I like to do? Take the oil.”
He added: “Unfortunately, the American people want us to return home. If it were up to me, I would take the oil, keep it, and make a lot of money.”
Trump further claimed: “When the Iranian people don’t hear the sound of bombs, they become upset. They want to hear bombs because they want to be free.”
Expressing frustration with those who were supposed to deliver weapons to Iran, he said: “We sent weapons—they were supposed to reach the Iranian people. Do you know what happened? The people we sent them to kept them for themselves, saying, ‘What beautiful weapons—I think I’ll keep them.’”
He continued: “I am very angry with a certain group of people in Iran, and they will pay a heavy price for this.”
A reporter then asked Trump: “You said Iran has been destroyed, so why are we still at war?”
Trump responded: “They don’t have the ability to confront us. They have no real capability. Maybe they have a few missiles and drones left, but essentially they have nothing. Even that one hit on our aircraft was just a lucky strike.”
