WANA (Jun 14) – U.S. President Donald Trump called for an end to attacks between the parties involved in the conflict, stressing that no side should carry out further military actions.

Trump stated: “Israel should not launch another attack anywhere in Lebanon. But there should also be no further attacks by any other party, including Hezbollah, against Israel. This could be the beginning of a long and beautiful peace. Let’s not ruin it.”

His remarks came as media reports indicated that Israel had informed and coordinated with the United States before carrying out its recent strike on Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf reacted to the attack by accusing Washington of either lacking the will or the ability to uphold its commitments.

In a statement, Qalibaf wrote: “The Zionists’ aggression against Dahiyeh once again demonstrated that the United States either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or lacks the ability to do so. You cannot gain concessions by giving the regime a green light. The ‘good cop, bad cop’ game has become outdated. If you neither have the will nor the capability to honor your commitments, then there is no point in talking about continuing the process.”
