Trump Threatens Iran with “Painful Response” After Attack on U.S. Forces in Jordan
WANA (Jul 29) – U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with what he described as a “painful lesson” following the reported missile attack on American forces in Jordan, while also indicating that his administration is considering imposing additional sanctions on Iran.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the United States would deliver a “tough lesson” to Iran after the attack on U.S. personnel in Jordan. He also stated that his administration is evaluating whether to impose further sanctions on individuals and entities linked to Iran.
Trump described the attack as “unexpected,” saying U.S. forces had only a few minutes to respond to the incoming Iranian missiles. He also accused Iran-backed armed groups of posing a global threat and said U.S. strikes against such groups in Iraq had been carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government.
Following Trump’s remarks and the renewed escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran, global oil prices surged by more than six percent, reflecting growing market concerns over the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
