WANA (Aug 31) – U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened a military response to Iran’s missile attack on American forces in Jordan, saying Washington will deliver a “heavy blow” in retaliation.

 

Speaking to Fox News, Trump said: “We will respond to Iran’s attack on U.S. forces that took place in Jordan last night.” He added: “We will hit them hard. There will be a response.”

 

In a separate post on Truth Social, Trump made a series of harsh claims about Iran, describing it as a “failed country” and saying it was “dead.”

He claimed that Iran no longer has an effective navy or air force, is facing a currency crisis and 300% inflation, and is struggling to pay its military personnel and police officers. Trump also described Iran’s leadership as being in “disarray.”

 

The U.S. president further claimed, without providing evidence, that more than 100,000 protesters had been killed in Iran. He also accused Iranian officials of “crimes against humanity” and called for them to be prosecuted.

 

Trump’s remarks come as tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated following Iran’s missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan, with Washington stepping up its threats of retaliatory action.
