WANA (Aug 17) – IRGC spokesman Brigadier General Mohbi rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington has a secret communication channel with senior Iranian military officials, describing the allegation as stemming from “delusions and nightmares of defeat and desperation” over the war.

 

Mohbi stressed that no talks are taking place between IRGC officials and their American counterparts, saying, “There are no talks whatsoever between IRGC officials and the Americans. Trump’s claim is rooted in delusions and nightmares of defeat and desperation in the war.”

 

The IRGC spokesman added that the organization makes its position clear “on the battlefield,” arguing that Trump is making such claims in an attempt to temporarily control oil and energy prices.

 

The remarks came after Trump claimed in an interview with Fox News that the United States has “a secret channel of communication” with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and is “directly in contact with officials” in Iran. He also warned that if Oman stood in Washington’s way, the United States would “bomb them heavily.”

 

In response, Mohbi said that, from Iran’s perspective, the only path forward for the United States is to accept defeat and comply with Iran’s conditions.
