WANA (May 29) – Informed sources, while rejecting the fresh claims of the U.S. President regarding a potential agreement with Iran, have described his statements as “a mixture of truth and lies” and an attempt to display a fabricated victory. According to these sources, it has become clear to almost everyone that these claims lack credibility.

According to this report, the text of the agreement, which has been drafted under the framework of “commitment for commitment,” is in the final stages of approval in Iran, and a definitive decision has not yet been made.

In contrast, Trump, who sees himself unable to exit the agreement, has raised matters that contradict the provisions of the text of the agreement. At the same time, he has announced that he is ending the blockade as of now.

Trump’s Distortion of the Main Axes of the Agreement:

The Strait of Hormuz: Trump has claimed that Iran is obliged to open the Strait of Hormuz without receiving tolls, whereas such a clause does not exist in the text of the agreement. Iran has emphasized that after the lifting of the blockade, it will open the Strait based on its own pre-determined arrangements.

These arrangements can encompass everything from the monitoring and inspection of ships to providing services and ensuring security, for which, according to hearings, Iran is currently preparing the groundwork.

Dismantling of Nuclear Materials: Trump has claimed that Iran will dismantle or destroy its nuclear materials. Informed sources have emphasized that not only does such a thing not exist in the memorandum of understanding, but this claim is fundamentally baseless.

Key Clauses of the Agreement That Trump Skipped Over:

Immediate $12 Billion Payment: The most important part of the agreement, which Trump made no mention of, is the condition for the immediate payment of 12 billion dollars of Iran’s frozen assets.

According to the text of the agreement, this amount must be paid immediately, and until this payment is made, Iran will not enter any subsequent negotiation phase. Non-implementation of this clause will be considered a violation of U.S. commitments.

Ceasefire in Lebanon: The other issue is the establishment of a complete ceasefire in Lebanon in accordance with Hezbollah’s view.

According to informed sources, only in the event that these matters are resolved will Iran, in the next phase, enter into talks regarding the lifting of all sanctions and the nuclear issue, in accordance with its own red lines.

Simultaneously with these statements, Iranian officials have emphasized that the final agreement will be set based on the principles and red lines of the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and with an approach of complete distrust toward the U.S., in such a way that in the event of any breach of promise, immediate reciprocal action will be taken.
