WANA (Mar 01) – In the wake of Saturday morning’s military strikes by the United States and the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has held high-level consultations with his counterparts from Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

During separate calls, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed their official condolences regarding the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and other senior officials following the military aggression.

Minister Araghchi updated both counterparts on the latest developments following the strikes, characterizing the attacks and the subsequent assassinations as “brutal and cowardly crimes.” He emphasized Iran’s unwavering determination to mount a powerful defense of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During the call with the Azerbaijani minister, the Iranian Foreign Minister warned that the aggressive and terrorist actions by the United States and the Israeli regime represent a dangerous and unprecedented shift in international relations. He attributed this development to the long-standing indifference of the international community and global institutions toward the lawlessness of these two actors.

Furthermore, Minister Araghchi highlighted the civilian casualties—specifically noting the deaths of Iranian children, including reports of over 140 young girls in Minab during the missile attacks—and called upon the international community to decisively condemn the military aggression and the killing of Iranian citizens.
